These appears to be scripts for lectures, delivered by Donald Mackinnon in the academic years 1884-85 and 1895-96* at the University of Edinburgh. The papers had been mixed up, and so the page numbers are currently out of sequence. Mackinnon may have reused lectures, or reused paper, so some of the scripts are possibly not part of the same lecture (especially Mackinnon C.12(1)(g) below). 7 scripts have been discerned from the file, which is two more than was noted in previous historical...

Mackinnon wrote this article or lecture as a discussion of poems that he found in manuscript NLS.72.2.13, which Mackinnon believed were written by Mac Mhaighistir Alastair. According to previous historical records, this article was published in the "Celtic Review", vol. IV, p. 289 - vol. V, p. 294.*
